How to prevent compaction?

In areas of the world where we practice intensive and mechanized agriculture, soil compaction is one of the main forms of soil degradation.
To prevent against soil compaction, it is necessary:
  • Plan the cultural operations so that the soil is not too wet when executed. The soil should crumble easily over the entire working depth.
  • Reduce the secondary labor to a minimum. Each additional pass breeze aggregates and increases soil bulk density.
  • Reduce the pressure on the ground, reducing tire pressure or reducing the axle load.
  • Improve drainage. This reduces the risk of being forced to work too wet field.
  • Enrichment of organic material in the soil to improve the stability of its structure.
  • By changing the depth of tillage.
  • By reducing the shock effect of rain droplets in the conservation of plant cover (stubble residues, mulch ...)
