Nitrogen deficiency

When the nitrogen supply is disrupted, the various organs of plants are smaller, and diminished returns. Nitrogen deficiency leads to a lower stocking density (tillering), to early fruiting and reduced protein content. Poor or excessive supply of N decreases quality.
Nitrogenous deficiency of the corn

Symptoms: The plant is small, the first green leaves with yellow yellowish become more or less orange and fall.
Deficient soils: inadequately fertilized soils; often sandy soils, filter, acidic or low in humus.
Remedies:

  • Nitrogen contribution to the soil or foliar fertilization.
  • Drainage too wet (reduced denitrification).
  • Improving soil structure.
  • Additional nitrogen intake in case landfill straws (C / N ratio less than 20).
  • Use of green manure avoiding N leaching in winter (when the weather conditions fall permitting)
