Nitrogenous deficiency of the corn |
Symptoms: The plant is small, the first green leaves with yellow yellowish become more or less orange and fall.
Deficient soils: inadequately fertilized soils; often sandy soils, filter, acidic or low in humus.
Remedies:
- Nitrogen contribution to the soil or foliar fertilization.
- Drainage too wet (reduced denitrification).
- Improving soil structure.
- Additional nitrogen intake in case landfill straws (C / N ratio less than 20).
- Use of green manure avoiding N leaching in winter (when the weather conditions fall permitting)
